Upcoming Holiday Parties
The holiday parties are grade-level parties which require the help of many volunteers due to all of the activities available for the students: bounce houses, crafts, karaoke, indoor games, food, and so much more. Volunteer information will be sent home soon as well.
For the safety of our more than 1,100 students, please help us by pre-registering and following these procedures on the day of the parties:
- All guests will report to the cafeteria via the outside doors by the parking lot (not the front doors).
- Arrive 5 minutes prior to the party if you have pre-registered in order to hear instructions for the party and checkout procedures.
- Arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the party if you do not have a pre-printed nametag. All badge scanning will take place in the cafeteria, so you will report to the party entrance.
- Parents will be able to walk back to the classroom with their child to sign them out in their classrooms; however, it might be necessary to have to sign your child out in the front office if there are any concerns with custody situations. Safety is our first priority.
- Please communicate any special circumstances regarding checkout as soon as possible. For example, if a grandparent is going to check out your student, we need to know this. If you are delegating anyone besides the parent to check out your child, this must be communicated on the RSVP form.
- We are unable to accommodate strollers due to the number of students and guests that will be present. Younger (non-school age) siblings may attend with you (if you are not volunteering); however, the food has only been planned and purchased for Robison students. We appreciate your understanding.
- Students who leave before 10:30 am will be marked absent. Keep in mind that our 5th-grade party concludes at 9:45 am.

Library News
Star Wars is coming soon! Students who check out Star Wars books and compete and answer Star Wars trivia correctly will be entered in a drawing to win books and Star Wars related prizes. May the Force be with our Rockets.
NTB- Students in grades 3rd -5th are reading from the NTB list of 100 wonderful books. Name That Book teams have been formed and are meeting at the library during their designated times. Students are encouraged to take notes on the books, read, and work in teams to share the love of reading. January, during large group, will be our first round to determine who will move up in the competition. This is the link to list of books https://www.cfisd.net/download_file/20662/348/ .
Thank you for your support and please continue encouraging students to read, care for their books, and return them weekly. Some students may keep their books for 2 weeks if the books are lengthy.
Thank you for sending gently used books for our classroom libraries : )
Writing Gallery
When visiting Robison, please stop by the front hallway to read students’ published writing. The writing reflects the students’ abilities to generate ideas, revise and edit those ideas, draft their papers, and publish them for an audience to read...and we would LOVE for this audience to be YOU!
The writing is changed bi-monthly, and the students get to keep the posters, along with coupons for free meals from restaurants in the area!
PBIS News: Fall Leaves Flowing in the Halls
For the month of November, we worked on showing integrity on the bus and in the hallways. Students who did this, earned a leaf to put on their grade level tree In the Hallway. The grade level with the most leaves earns a hat day…the winner is…5th Grade!!

PTO News
A Note From our PTO President, Karen Finke
Wow, it’s hard to believe that our first semester is winding down for this school year. But, there is still plenty of fun to be had! Through your generous support of your paid PTO membership dues and our PTO fundraisers (Boosterthon, Spirit Shop and Texas Roadhouse Rolls were all a huge success…Thank you!!), PTO is able to fund our December events:
- Field Trip buses
- Holiday Shoppe
- Grade-level Holiday Parties
Students in grades 3-5 will take a field trip to Cy Woods to see the theater department production of Pinkalicious on December 8. Generous PTO support covers the cost to transport students to the high school for this event.
We are excited to offer our Holiday Shoppe December 12-15 where students will have the opportunity to shop for family and friends for holiday gifts. Look for a flyer and a money envelope to go home soon. Please remember that PTO does not accept checks, this will be cash only. We will have our second annual Family Night at the Holiday Shoppe on December 12 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the library/KIVA. Parents can shop and pay with a credit/debit card this evening while enjoying cocoa, cookies, and maybe a visit from a special guest…Included in this newsletter is the schedule for the homeroom/large group visits to the Holiday Shoppe. We will need lots of volunteers to make this a fun shopping experience for our kiddos.
December 21 PTO is hosting our Holiday Party for all students. Students will get a chance to celebrate with their entire grade level during their large group time. We plan to have snacks, games, inflatables, face painting and more! We will also be looking for parent volunteers to assist during the Holiday Party. A friendly reminder: per CFISD policy, no middle or high school aged siblings are permitted on campus on party day. Parents volunteering during the Holiday Party are also requested to be adults only, no preschool aged siblings.
Our volunteer requests will be going out thru our PTO communication system, MySchoolAnywhere (MSA)and will also be posted to our PTO Facebook page. If you are not receiving emails thru MSA, you can get registered by visiting www.join.myschoolanywhere.com and enter school code 'gorockets.' If you have any questions regarding MSA, please contact Fiona Anderson RobisonPTOMembership@gmail.com .
If you have questions regarding these upcoming volunteer opportunities, you may contact Viki Young at robisonrocketspto@gmail.com. I am also available for assistance at karenfinke@comcast.net.
