Barness Road Construction Update
The construction project is coming to an end and should be completed by Thanksgiving. Beginning on Monday, November 8th, they will begin work on fixing and paving Upper and Lower Barness Roads. I have been informed that construction will stay away from working on the roads during arrival and dismissal times, but please be prepared that portions of Barness may be closed during school hours and you may need to enter Titus from a different direction. If construction impacts our kindergarten pick up and drop off, I will communicate with these families specifically. Please remind your children, if they are walkers or bike riders, to continue to utilize the sidewalks for their own safety.
I appreciate your flexibility and support. All construction should be completed by Thanksgiving and we can then resume our normal traffic patterns.
Thank you again for your help and support,
Mrs. Bridget M,. Pustay, Principal

American Education Week
Dear Central Bucks families,
The week of November 15, 2021 is “American Education Week.” In past years, classroom teachers and schools have planned events for families who are able to attend during the day, whereby lessons or other activities could be observed.
Family engagement is a key component of the work our teachers do each day. Our classroom teachers regularly share videos, photos, and news with parents and guardians, so that they may discuss, support, and understand what their children are learning.
This year, our principals and classroom teachers are mitigating the added risk that COVID-19 brings to events and gatherings in our schools. As an additional temporary mitigation strategy, we will not be organizing in-person classroom visits to avoid unnecessary exposure.
Principals will work with teachers and staff to highlight what is occurring in our classrooms and communicate that out to parents.
Respectfully,
Abram M. Lucabaugh, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

Looking to Make a Difference in the Lives of Children?
Barclay Elementary—right across 611—is looking for Titus parents who are interested in working part-time (about 4-5 hours a day) as instructional assistants. Like Titus, Barclay is a special place, with many opportunities to support children’s academic and social success. Work in a caring and supportive environment and be able to follow your own children’s school schedule. We can ensure that you’re available to see your Titus children off in the morning and welcome them home in the afternoon. If you’re interested in making a difference, e-mail Dr. Joe Brereton at jbrereton@cbsd.org. Please introduce yourself, include your resumé, and tell him you are a Titus parent or guardian. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sparks
Welcome back to Sparks. You will be receiving these articles on a regular basis through your building’s newsletter with the goal of career education for all Central Bucks students.
Last spring, the students in grades 3-6 were introduced to Smart Futures. Smart Futures is an online career development platform which focuses on grade-specific activities for students and manages the outcomes of the activities in a portfolio which meets the required PA Career Readiness Standards. Classroom teachers will be working with students in Smart Futures. Last year students in grades 3-6 completed a limited number of activities but this year we will be asking all elementary students to complete the activities for their grade. Any student who chooses, can do the activities in the previous grade band to have a complete portfolio for career readiness. For the most part, students can do the earlier activities independently so it might be an opportunity for you to see Smart Futures at home with your daughter or son. We are asking students not to go beyond the activities assigned to their grade.
SF allows students to discover what they like to do, learn about careers they might want to investigate and even how to develop a budget. To learn more about SF, watch this short video and you can always ask your child to log onto SF to see what they are learning.

Box Tops
Did you know that you can earn money for Titus just by buying groceries?
That’s right! You can help support the Titus Home and School Association by utilizing the Box Tops for Education program in any (or all) of the following ways!
1) Download the Box Tops for Education App and scan your receipt every time you shop in store.
2) Create an account at www.boxtops4education.com and forward your digital receipts (from online grocery shopping) to receipts@boxtops4education.com for credit.
3) Collect the older “clip” version of Box Tops (the ones you cut out that have an expiration date) and send them to school in a baggie labeled with your child’s teacher’s name. There is a collection box in the main office.
4) Don’t want to bother with the app or email? Send in your grocery receipts to school and we’ll take care of the scanning. Label the receipt with your child’s teacher’s name and have your child place it in the Box Tops collection bin in the main office. (All receipts must be received within 7 days of purchase to allow time for scanning before they expire.)
Every little bit helps! If you have any questions about the Box Tops program or need help with the app, contact Stephanie Wolff at srwolff2@verizon.net.
