Parents Sought to Share Diversity
Sprague is seeking parent volunteers to share a part of their history during Sprague Family Cultural Day Friday, Oct. 11. Our population is rich with celebrations from diverse countries and we want to honor them and share them with our students.
Now here is where you come in! What better resource do we have than our very own
families! We would love volunteers to come in for the day to share a part of their culture.
There will be three sessions:
- 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.: All Morning Early Childhood Students and Kindergarten Students
- 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.: All First-Grade Students and Afternoon Early Childhood Students
- 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. All Second-Grade Students
Share Your Story on Our Bulletin Board
The Sprague Staff Cultural Diversity Committee would love to connect with individuals, families, or a caregiver who would be interested in putting together a bulletin board display to teach others about their culture or about a culture that is relevant to their family. Our goal is to share with students and families about different cultures and to increase community connections. You are welcome to use your own creativity and ideas for your display! You may want to include information about a country, holiday, or another facet of your culture. For the physical display you may consider artifacts, photographs, facts, or anything else you think would help our students broaden their understanding of the world and of each other.
