Education, Salary, and Opportunities:
Initial salaries for veterinarians range between about US$50,000 to US$90,000. Many aquaculture veterinarians are self-employed, while others work for a wide range of government agencies and aquaculture industry associations.
Pros / Cons

Equipment:
Net - Used to pick up fish out of aquariums, or capture samples.
Scalpels - Can be used to cut off pieces of fish to examine for something, or remove a sample for testing.
Importance
- Intervene to treat diseases in any type of fish farms, private or company
- Study and research the important of fish nutrition and the microbiology of it all.
Current need/ New Developments
Nationally More than 250 aquaculture veterinarians are working in private industry, private practice, and in state and federal agriculture and natural resource agencies. They are also working in veterinary colleges and university aquaculture programs, so their numbers will grow in the future.
Regionally Six other states are working with Wisconsin to develop a veterinary approach in the Midwest: Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Ohio.
