Table to Table Field Trip - Tuesday, May 29!
To conclude a study of the United Nations World Goals, our ELP (Extended Learning Program) 5th grade students have planned a field trip to visit Table to Table in Iowa City to help clean their food delivery trucks.
The ELP students have been creating a community service project that would impact hunger in our area. We will leave at 11am, travel to Iowa City, clean, break for lunch, and finish up cleaning. Students will be back by 2:30.
Please send a self-cooled lunch (those who signed up for school lunch will have a packed school lunch), comfortable clothes for cleaning, sturdy shoes, and a water bottle.
Summer Birthday Bash!
We will be celebrating summer birthdays on Thursday, May 31 with an ice cream party with the 4th grade. Teachers will provide the ice cream, bowls, and spoons. We invite our summer birthday kids to bring in their favorite topping to share. Anyone is welcome to bring toppings as well. Please bring toppings on Tuesday!!!!
Thanks!
Send in clean, Track and Field Shirts PRIOR to June 1 for signing at 5th Grade Celebration!
HELP NEEDED - PHOTOS OF YOUR CUTIES!
I am working on a project for our fifth graders during the talent show and need a photo of each child as a baby and as a current fifth grader.
You may send the photos electronically or physical copies which would be returned.
Thank you!
5th Grade March at 1pm on Last Day - Friday, June 1
It is a tradition to celebrate and honor our 5th graders' time at Amana Elementary on the last day of school. To do this, our 5th graders will march through the halls starting at the 1st grade wing and off to the bus, while their younger schoolmates cheer them on and give high fives. Parents are welcome to attend - bring tissues ;)
CLASSROOM BOOKS!!!!! PLEASE HELP!
I allow my students access to our classroom library on a trust-based system of return. Please encourage your child to clean their spaces at home to identify any books belonging to our classroom library. Time to look under beds, on shelves, and in closets! Sometimes a little adult help and encouragement is needed! My future readers THANK YOU!!!!!
