Hardin Middle School
Newsletter for the Community
Welcome to September
Greetings Hardin Middle School Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community Members,
The school year is off to a great start and having students in the building is an incredible feeling. You may have received a district message yesterday about our recent building evacuation. Everyone exited safely and we were able to identify the cause of the Fire Alarm prior to the beginning of school today. District personnel and our Facilities Department are working to replace a faulty sensor. Overall, our teachers, staff, and students, "jumped" into action and I am proud of each of them.
FYI:
Due to afternoon dismissal from Blackhurst Elementary, the street that loops around the side and back of both buildings may become congested throughout the school year. If you are picking up or dropping off, between 3:30 pm and 4:10 pm, you may not be able to drive around the building.
Also, pick-up and drop-off for HMS students will continue to be in front of HMS using the drive.
See below for information regarding Open House.
Take care,
Dr. Darryl S. Diggs, Jr.
