Field Flash
May 31, 2021
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope you enjoy the three-day weekend! As a reminder, there is no school on Monday for the Memorial Day holiday. We look forward to seeing students on Tuesday, June 1st. This upcoming week is a busy one as we begin our PHOENIX end-of-the-year celebration days and our Field PTO is hosting our Steppin' into Summer events. Please be sure to read through this whole newsletter for all the details!
Student Device Collection
The school year is coming to an end, which means we need to start thinking about technology device collection. For those families who are new to the district, or it's your first time with your student using a D64 device, we collect all tech devices at the end of every year (see handbook). This gives us time to clean them, update, fix anything that needs fixing, and ensure your student is ready to go next year! Our in-person students will turn in their devices the week of June 7th with their classroom teacher, so please be sure students bring their devices, cases/straps, chargers, and/or stylus with them. For our fully remote families, please sign up for a turn in time here to drop off all electronic devices and accessories either June 10 or June 11. This includes ipads, chromebooks, device cases, chargers, stylus (for chromebooks). It would be a great help if those of you who have personal devices available for student learning for a day to select a Thursday drop off, otherwise aim for Friday. If you have any questions please email Field's Technologist at sgalluzzi@d64.org.
Arrival & Dismissal
As the weather warms up, we know many families are arriving earlier and/or remaining after school on our black top and playground. Please know that there is not school supervision before school or after school on the playground, and parents are asked to actively supervise the children in their care. Roughhousing, play fighting, and/or physical contact are not permitted during the school day, and we'd appreciate our students refraining from these behaviors while on school grounds after school, too. Our school playground has been closed before school, and we'd appreciate if you continue to arrive close to the 8:40 a.m. time frame these last few weeks and avoid morning playground play. Thank you!
Incoming Kindergarten Orientation
We were glad to see many parents at Kindergarten Orientation earlier this month. We emailed a link to the video presentation, which is also posted on our website here. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Student Registration for 2021-2022
Please do complete your child(ren)'s registration for next school year as soon as possible. In order to be placed into a class, your child does need to be fully registered. Please review the additional information below in this newsletter!
Mask Wearing, Social Distance
- It is important for us to remain vigilant with our children's mask wearing, social distancing, and the daily self-certification/lanyards.
- Please review proper mask wearing with your child(ren), ensuring they know and understand the importance of keeping the mask over their nose and mouth. Also, please be sure masks remain on during arrival and dismissal.
- Please see Dr. Olson's email from Wednesday. As he shared, we continue to ask all adults and children to remain masked on school property unless you are able to maintain 6 feet distance.
- In addition, all adults and children will remain masked inside the school building through the end of this school year.
Student Dress Code
As the weather warms up (hopefully!), please do take a look at the student-parent handbook online which details our District 64 student dress code. Please be sure students are wearing appropriate clothing (shorts, shirts, tank tops). Thank you!
We hope that you and your family have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney Goodman
Principal

Registration for School Year 2021-22
Registration for the upcoming school year is currently open and needs to be completed by June 1, 2021. We cannot stress to you enough the importance of completing this necessary process as it can impact the ability of our school to plan, schedule and, most importantly, hire teachers and staff for the upcoming school year. More specifically, this can impact student schedules, teacher assignments, and teaching locations in the building. Currently, Field's registration numbers do not reflect our projections for the upcoming school year, and until they do, certain aspects of our preparation will be delayed and/or impacted by this.
Your attention to this requirement is greatly appreciated. As a reminder, all current students (including returning students) will need to be registered.
Please click HERE for more information. If you are a returning D64 family, please refer to the “Registration for Returning Students” section on the webpage.
If you've registered already, we're asking that families log back into the parent portal, click on "forms" and check if the section "2021-22 permissions and agreements" was submitted.
If you have any questions, please email Ruth Klepitsch in the Field main office.
Join the Award-Winning D64 Instrumental Music Program!
We would like to invite your student to join the District 64 Instrumental Music program next year! As a 4th grader next year, your child is eligible to join Orchestra and students going into 5th grade are eligible to join the band or orchestra!
