Setting up your Parent Cloud

The "Parent Cloud" is a platform you can use to view student grades, update registration and set communication notifications. It is vital to set this up asap so you can stay informed about your student's education.

Access your student's educational information by setting up your Parent Cloud account in the link embedded below titled "Parent Cloud".

Understanding BLEND - AISD's digital learning space

BLEND is AISD's main digital learning space. It's where students access teacher zoom links, assignments and where they submit their work digitally. Think of it as your student's digital classroom. Only students enrolled in a course will be able to access the course BLEND page. For parents and caregivers BLEND is where you can find important school information. Information you used to find on the website will now be found on our BLEND course more and more. As we move continually toward keeping information private, and accessible only by our Gorzycki community, it is important that you create a habit of checking your BLEND course tile for information. Learn how to navigate BLEND with confidence here:

Your student's schedule

Once your student is registered with AISD and is assigned to Gorzycki Middle School, you will begin the process of selecting courses. Please look through our course offerings in the following links.

6th graders have different elective course choices than 7th and 8th graders.

Please note that in addition to four core classes and EXCEL, all 6th graders must choose one year-long fine arts course and will also have two semester-long PE courses called Functional Fitness and PE6 or Dance. 6th graders should carefully review the Math Paths document below. Your counselor can help guide you on selecting the appropriate math level.

7th and 8th graders are required to have four core classes, EXCEL, at lease one semester of PE each year (can be PE, Strength and Conditioning, Athletics, Dance Class, or Dance Team), and several other electives of their choosing. If they only have one semester of PE then they must have a semester elective to pair with it.

Choosing Your Courses

Once fully registered at GMS, you will be given access to a digital choice sheet. Your choice sheet is a document that you and your student fill out together to let their counselor know what courses they would like to take. Counselors use this information to create student schedules. Familiarize yourself with the choice sheet procedures by viewing the grade-level slideshow below.

See link below BEFORE you sign up for a High School course

Now you're ready to complete your choice sheet and select your courses!
