Weekly Wednesday Update
Wednesday, April 28th
Message from Principal Wells
Good afternoon Mountain View Families! The days and weeks are flying by with busy learning in all our classrooms, and starting to plan for summer school and next fall! We look forward to providing you with updates, probably another Q&A Zoom, as we get closer to having details ready to share.
We know that this has been a year of transitions, but our students and staff have remained optimistic throughout it all. I am in the process of reading The Energy Bus for Kids: A Story about Staying Positive and Overcoming Challenges to all classes before the end of school. (It takes a long time with so many classrooms!) The children are so insightful and I believe this will be the energy we need to finish this year strong as a school community.
A few closing notes:
Report Cards: are ready to view in Parent Portal
Planning for next year: We are already starting to plan for next school year. This is a collaborative process at Mountain View and your perspective is important to us. Please use this form Input on class placement to provide us with additional background information you believe would be helpful in making your child’s classroom placement for next year. Please keep in mind that we do not accept requests for specific teachers and ask that you simply describe the type of learning environment that would be most beneficial for your child. Our ultimate priority is to create well-balanced classrooms for the benefit of creating an optimal environment for the teaching and learning of all children.
We can’t thank you enough for your support and partnership this year.
Heritage Celebration of ALL Mountain View Families
As we wrap up the year we are looking to celebrate ALL of our Mountain View Families. We know the end of the school year is a busy time for families so we are creating a format that makes participation easy. We hope to expand this celebration in the upcoming years, but we didn’t want to wait to get this started. If you are interested in participating, have ideas to share, or want to help us organize this for families please fill out this Google Form and we will contact you soon!
Final Family Equity Zoom for 20-21: May 5 @6pm
Looking Back to Move Forward: For our last family night of this school year, we'll look back on the rich conversations we've had and how, together, we will push our antiracist work even further next year.
