Dear Parents,

I hope you had a blessed Second Sunday of Advent and enjoyed the weekend! This Tuesday, December 8, is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. Our students will be participating in Mass remotely during their Religion class. Father Emiel will be distributing Communion to our students in grades 3-8 outside during the day, as well. Thank you, Father Emiel!

Service Update

Thanks to everyone who participated in our #GivingTuesday Charity Dress Down Fundraiser last week! As a school community, we collected $303.50, which was donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Transfiguration Church. We received the below note of thanks...

"I want to express my sincere thanks and the thanks of those less fortunate than us. The continued support of Transfiguration School is a major boost to SVDP society. It is a living example of God’s love working in our community. Your commitment makes all our parishioners proud of you. Thank you again!!!"

GIVING TREE - Wrapped/Labeled Gifts are Due Back to School by Friday, December 11. You can send your gift into the school that day with your child, OR you can drop your gift when picking up your child at dismissal. You will not need to get out of your car; someone will take the gift from you. Contact Gina Mueller, glranieri@live.com, or 914-500-3732 with any questions or to make alternative drop-off arrangements.

ADVENT PRAYERS FOR SOYAPANGO: Please have your children continue to color the Advent Calendar we sent home last week and offer a daily prayer for our friends in Soyapango. After Christmas, the prayer sheets should be returned to school as they will be sent to St. Joseph the Worker School in El Salvador to be distributed as a sign of our friendship and solidarity with them.

We deeply appreciate your dedication to helping those in need this holiday season!

Christmas Tree Ornaments

This year, we will be selling handmade Christmas Tree Ornaments. Mr. Alba, one of our PK parents, makes them and will personalize them for us. Please see pictures below. Order forms will go out this week. Thank you Mr. Alba and the Parents' Guild for this unique keepsake.

December 6th-- 2nd Sunday of Advent

Yesterday, December 6th, marked the second Sunday of Advent. We lit the second candle of our School Advent Wreath this morning. The second candle of Advent is the candle of peace. I hope this week you are able to find peace in the this hectic holiday season.

I have attached an Advent calendar for this week with some daily reminders, activities and prayers to do with your children.
