Mother Goose on the Loose: Superstar!

It is such a joy to watch the phenomenal pace at which infants and toddlers develop! Theo, a regular MGOL attendee, has absolutely blossomed over the months. He has gone from shyly hanging back with mom to eagerly participating. According to Theo's mom, he loves singing and his current favorite MGOL activity is bell time, which combines "music and some physical activity, too." Theo is a MGOL superstar!

Mother Goose on the Loose, a program for infants and toddlers, is offered twice a week at the library: Wednesdays & Thursdays at 9:30am.

***Please note: MGOL will only be meeting on Thursdays during the month of July. On Wednesday mornings, we will be busy with Farmers' Market Storytime! Come see us there!***

Micah and Me Dance Party

Thursday, July 25th, 11am

525 Anderson Avenue

Coos Bay, OR

Micah and Me is a kindie rock band made up of stay at home dads.

"We play the ukulele, guitar and bass drum while singing and dancing their hearts out! The show is 45-60 minutes depending on the kids’ attention span. Kids and parents engage in guided and free form dancing throughout our show. We often incorporate scarves, parachutes, silly hats and bubbles! At the end of the show we offer an instrument petting zoo! We love performing for children and families, loving nothing more than getting everyone on their feet dancing! Here is an example of our DANCE PARTY!"

Build Skills Every Day

Little interactions every day can add up to a BIG foundation for learning.

  • Talk: Talk about your favorite colors and why you like them.
  • Sing: Sing the alphabet song every time you wash your (or your child's) hands.
  • Read: Choose a book about planting a garden. Talk about what plants you see.
  • Write: Write a letter to a friend or family member. Let your child add his or her own "writing".
  • Play: Have a dance party!

Go Ahead... Sing!

(Tune: Wheels on the Bus)

The sun at the beach is shining bright,

shining bright, shining bright.

The sun at the beach is shining bright,

all through the day.

The waves of the sea come rolling in,

rolling in, rolling in.

The waves of the sea come rolling in,

all through the day.

[Additional verses]

The seagulls above come diving down...

The crabs near the rocks go pinch, pinch, pinch...

The sand underfoot goes crunch, crunch, crunch...

The kids at the seashore splash and play...
