Information about Arrival and Dismissal
Where do I go at the start of the school day???
When I am dropped off and do not come on the school bus…
I am a 2nd Grade student OR in Mrs. O'Neill's 3rd Grade Class - I go through the main door by the front office on Code Rd. Then I go to the Gym in the main building. I will meet my teacher there for breakfast every morning. (I do not go to my classroom if I arrive on time or before 8:40 a.m. because my class is in the Gym. If I am late and get to school after 8:40 a.m., I MUST go to the main office for a tardy pass and someone will walk me to my class.)
I am a 3rd Grader – I have two options…
- I can be dropped off at the front door by the office on Code Rd and then walk through the hallways of the main building to the side door. Adults will monitor me along the way because I will go out the side door and up the ramp leading to the MOD in which my classroom is located. Once in my MOD, my teacher will greet me at the door.
OR
- I can be dropped off at the back of the main building, where the MOD with my classroom is located. However, access to this area might be blocked until buses pass through. Once I am back there, I can walk along the path and enter one of the two doors and meet my teacher at our classroom door. If I am late and get to school after 8:40 a.m., I MUST go to the main office by way of the front door of the main building for a tardy pass and someone will walk me to my class.)
I am a 4th or 5th Grade student – I go through the main door by the front office on Code Rd and report to my classroom.
When I come on the school bus…
I will be escorted off the bus by a teacher and directed to the area that I am supposed to report to in the morning.
When I must go to latchkey in the A.M….
Latchkey is in the 3rd Grade Mod located behind the main building. When I am dropped off, I must be walked to the door by an adult and signed in every morning.
What happens at dismissal time???
Dismissal is at 3:30 p.m.
Buses are loaded at 3:15 p.m.
ALL bus changes MUST go through the transportation department and NOT the school’s main office, teacher, or the bus driver.
NO EARLY PICKUPS after 2:45 p.m. (Early Pickups are discouraged as it interrupts the flow of the school day. Please keep this in mind and limit early pickups to emergencies only.)
Once buses are released…
…if my classroom is in the main building (4th and 5th Grade), please pick me up from the main parking lot outside school's office.
…if my classroom is in MOD 1 (3rd Grade Building), that is the first modular in the back of the main building, you can drive pass the church on Code Rd., coming from 10 Mile and I will be in waiting with my teacher. We will be close to our building's ramp.
…if my classroom is in MOD 2 (2nd Grade and Mrs. O'Neill's class), that is the modular at the back of the campus by the playground, you can drive pass the church on Code Rd., coming from 10 Mile and I will be waiting with my teacher by the playground.
Please do not enter the school via the 10 MILE driveway at the back of the main building.
All bussers will be guided by staff to their appropriate bus. Changing bus expectations daily is not encouraged and will only happen if we are contacted by the Transportation Department. It can cause confusion and uncertainty. Please keep dismissal procedures as consistent as possible.
TRAFFIC DURING DISMISSAL TIME
The parking lots can become congested if proper expectations are not followed and if everyone is not patient. It is imperative that no one blocks parked cars or park in areas that are not deemed for parking. Please be vigilant of all who are walking through the parking lots. We would like to keep everyone safe and the traffic flow smooth. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
