Learning About Your Students
Cool Strategies for Discovering How Your Students Learn Best
It's the First Week of Class, and I Don't Even Know Their Names...
Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences
- Verbal-linguistic
- Logical-mathematical
- Visual-spatial
- Musical
- Naturalistic
- Bodily-kinesthetic
- Interpersonal
- Intrapersonal
As a teacher, knowing this information about your students can assist in lesson planning, grouping, delivery of content, development of projects, and even assessment.
Consider giving your students the Multiple Intelligences Self Assessment below and then have them record their Top 2 most dominant intelligences in a Google Form for your records and in an Answer Garden to create a visual display of they types of learners in your class.
**After taking the quiz, students will be presenting with an overview of their preferred intelligence that they can read about.***
True Colors Personality Assessment
Why is this information important to me as a teacher?
Much like above, knowing the various strengths and weakness of your students can assist you with seating arrangements, lesson development and delivery, grouping, etc.
If you have a class that is predominantly orange, which is your competitive personality color, then designing class competitions may be a fun way to enhance student engagement.
Try giving your students the Color Personality Test below then have them share their results through Google Form and/or Answer Garden. Consider creating a Word Cloud of your students' responses to display.
