Retiree Needs
Cathy needs to get her ya-ya's out by taking fast power walks when the demands of the job and life get to be too much. A glass of red wine helps too!
Goals:
By June 30, 2020 Cathy will be well rested, relaxed and will have enjoyed the summer weather 10 out of 10 days as measured by weekly self reporting via journal or email.
When given the opportunity to hang out with friends or family, Cathy will happily join them and NOT worry about all the students on her caseload, IEP goals and driving from school to school with 100% accuracy, in 5 out of 5 trials, by the end of this summer as measured by checklists.
Cathy will reduce her computer screen time by 95%. Cathy will replace this screen time with gardening, hiking, biking and kayaking. Cathy will spend as much time as possible at her Isle La Motte camp.
Transition Plan:
Cathy will remain in contact with her colleague relationships and Nine East Community so they don't miss her TOO much!
Cathy will have increasing levels of responsibilities as a grandparent. She will reach out to her family and community for support as needed!
I (Cathy) Won't Back Down
To the tune of Tom Petty's "Won't Back Down"
Well, I won't back down
No I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of school
And I won’t back down.
No I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I’ll help my kids keep moving on
Gotta stand their ground
And I won’t back down.
(I won’t back ...)
Hey school teams, there ain't no easy way out
(I won't back...)
Hey and I will stand my ground
And I won’t back down
Well the kids have rights
They got just one life
In a world without good access to sound
But we’ll stand our ground
And we won’t back down
(I won't back...)
Hey Johnny, speaking out will help out
(I won’t back, ...)
Hey and - but we’ll stand our ground
(I won’t back...)
And we won’t back down
(guitar solo)
(I won’t back…)
Hey Cathy,
There ain’t no easy way out
(I won’t back...)
Hey and...It’s time to slow down
Hey Cathy
You always say it outloud
Hey and don’t stop now
And we won’t stop now
And we won’t back down
A limerick for Cathy...
THERE ONCE WAS A YOUNG GIRL NAMED METZ A COOL TOD FROM THE WEST. SHE CAME TO OUR STATE, SAID “THIS PLACE IS GREAT!” “TIL I’M A CONSULTANT, I NEVER WILL REST!”
SO SHE JOINED THE CENTRAL VERMONT CREW, DEB, JANE, AND ABBIE TO MENTION A FEW. THEY DROVE IN ALL WEATHER AND WROTE A NEWSLETTER, SERVED SCHOOLS WELL AND THEIR CASELOADS JUST GREW.
NOW CATHY WILL NEVER BACK DOWN TO GET WHAT KIDS NEED, SHE JUST GOES TO TOWN. SHE IS A GREAT MENTOR, AND THERE’S NO ONE BETTER TO HELP COLLEAGUES WITH NARY A FROWN.
OVER TIME, SOME CAME AND SOME WENT. CAMILLA AND HOPE JOINED THE OFFICE THEY DID RENT. THEY MADE A GREAT TEAM, ALTHOUGH IT DID SEEM THEIR WORKSPACE WAS SMALLER THAN A TENT.
THE STAIRS WERE ICY AND STEEP INSIDE THE STINK BUGS DID CREEP. POND WALKS WERE FUN, AS THEY PLANNED ON THE RUN, AND SOME DAYS THEY’D LAUGH TIL THEY WEEPED.
CATHY, WE’RE GLAD YOU’LL RETIRE. THOUGH YOU’LL BE MISSED BY ALL YOU’VE INSPIRED. THOSE “TWO MORE YEARS” ARE FINALLY HERE. WE’LL JOIN YOUR WALKS IF WE DON’T GET TOO TIRED.
YOU KNOW YOU’RE LOVED BY US ALL. IN OUR EYES YOU STAND TALLER THAN TALL. YOU’LL ENJOY THE NEXT CHAPTER, AND ALL THAT COMES AFTER. WE’LL BE WAITING, JUST GIVE US A CALL.
