You Got This!
Just a quick note here to tell you that you got this! We appreciate your creativity and responsiveness to students' needs during distance learning. These are challenging times and I am amazed and inspired by everyone's resilience.

Photos of the week-Scroll down for a photo of Ryann Varney's cat disrupting her distance learning with students. I thank Fiona, Louis and Evyn for their help with day 1 of chromebook distribution! Scroll down for the photos from Day 1!
I will post photo(s) of the week that staff share with me. Please keep them coming! You can send to my district cell which is 862-272-1624 or you can email me! Please share photos about teaching and learning, your family, etc. anything you'd like to share with us so that we can stay connected!
Virtual Clubs-If you would like to create a virtual club for kids using Google Classroom, please send me the class code and I will add to my newsletter to families (going on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week). We have not received guidance from YouthNet or the district on this, but if you'd like to try it out, that is certainly an option!
No Grading--Feedback Only
Until further direction from the district, please note that we are not to grade or post grades to assignments during the distance learning period. You can and are encouraged to provide feedback on student work, but we are not grading at this time.
If you would like to keep paper records of grades for your records in case district guidance on this changes you are welcome to do so.
You may update/enter old grades of assignments and assessments from prior to school closure (prior to 12:30pm 3/13/20).
Google Hangouts/Virtual Teaching
The district guidance is as follows: You are not to use a platform other than Google Hangouts for virtual meetings with students. If you are using it, it should be for 1:1 support. You may also use a phone call with students (you might consider the use of a Google phone number to protect your personal phone number privacy). You are not permitted to use Hangouts for group instruction of any kind. Should district guidance on this change after Chromebook distribution, we will be sure to let you know! We trulyunderstand that everyone's hearts are in the right place here, but we need to follow this district directive. Zoom meetings, etc. are absolutely ok if you want to meet up with/connect virtually with colleagues.
