Findley Flyer 5/5/22
Engage-Connect-Grow
I want to thank all of the parents who declared candidacy for our School Governance Council and for all of you who voted during the election window. Mr. Nicholas Bailey will fill the parent seat for the 2022-2023 school year. Our teachers voted in the teacher election and our Speech Language Pathologist, Jennifer Fried, will serve as a teacher member. Congratulations to both Mr. Bailey and Ms. Fried!
May 16-19 our school will "travel" to South Africa. Students will have the opportunity to and experience another country right from their own classrooms. Students in all grades will immerse themselves in another culture though fun and engaging activities around the languages, geography, traditional sports, art, music and more. Our 3rd graders have been learning traditional South African songs and they will be performing these songs for our students on Wednesday, May 18. We are excited to bring this enrichment program to Findley Oaks and look forward to "traveling" to other wonderful countries in the future. Thanks to our Findley Oaks PTA for helping to sponsor this learning experience through https://www.mycoolworldllc.com/.
Georgia Milestones for grades 3-5 started on May 4 and will continue through May 12. We have had a smooth start to testing thanks to our Assistant Principal and Test Coordinator, Cindy Lamb, and all of our test examiners and proctors.
Happy Mother's Day to all of our Findley Oaks moms!
