La Costa Meadows Elementary School
Weekly Dolphin Blast
Week of December 11, 2022
Last week was a busy one and we had a wonderful turnout at our choir events and our first Family Coding and STEAM Night. I'd like to give a huge shoutout to Mr. Ball for his work with our choir and Mrs. Smith for all of her hard work in planning and facilitating our Family Coding and STEAM night. Our teachers rock!
Due to the increased travel and social interactions that often occur during school breaks, it is recommended that students and staff get tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to school following major breaks and holidays (e.g., Thanksgiving, winter, spring). This week before we leave for Winter break, your child will receive a COVID-19 at-home test kit. Each test kit contains two tests. Please test your child on Monday, January 9th, prior to coming to school or the evening before.
If your child tests positive, please email the school health office at debra.bucci@smusd.org. Be sure to include your child’s full name and the date they tested positive. If your child experienced symptoms prior to testing positive, please include the date of symptom onset and a list of the symptoms they experienced.
This week is our last week of school before we head out on winter break. As a reminder, there will be no school for students Monday, December 19th through Friday, January 6th. School will resume on Monday, January 9th.
It will be another busy week with the Cookie Exchange, Variety Show, Pajama Day, Polar Express Night, and Friday Flag Salute! Details for each event can be found below. In advance of our Variety Show I would like to express my appreciation to Mrs. Smith again, for all of her hard work in coordinating this favorite LCM event where our students have an opportunity to shine!
On behalf of the entire LCM staff, I'd like to wish our entire community Happy Holidays!
With Dolphin pride,
Mrs. Bedard
