Phalen Flyer
PLA@George H. Fisher School 93
Greetings PLA Families,
This week we celebrated our hard work on ILEARN. Scholars that had perfect attendance were invited to the gym for cookies and a chance to smash a pie into the face of one of our staff members. Twenty scholars were selected and I'm happy to announce I was only "pied" three times. We are so proud of how hard our scholars worked and are looking forward to seeing their results. Our last test of the year is NWEA. The window opens on May 22nd. Stay tuned to your weekly newsletter for more information.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We have special events planned for our teachers all week long. Feel free to send them a note, text, email, or call to let them know how much you appreciate them.
As a reminder, all work from our virtual day will be due on Tuesday, May 9th. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
Parents of current 6th grade and Kindergarten students, we have schedule promotion ceremonies. The dates/times are as follows:
6th grade- June 1st @ 10:15
KDG- June 2nd @ 10:15
Your child's teacher will be providing you with additional information.
Yearbooks are currently being sold in the main office for $15 each (cash only). Scholars are invited to come down following morning announcements to purchase. Yearbooks are available on a first come first serve basis.
We have another family event planned for the month of May. Bingo for Books will take place on May 11 from 4:00-6:00pm. The event flyer is below. This week's community resource is Cooking Matters. More information can be found below.
I have kept the P-EBT information in the flyer this week in regards to upcoming eligibility. Additional information can be found below.
Enrollment for Summer Advantage is open! Are you looking for an excellent summer enrichment program to help scholars maintain their academic skills? PLA@93 is hosting Summer Advantage back in our building this year. This opportunity is open to all of our scholars currently in kindergarten through 5th grade. Current 6th grade scholars can enroll in the summer Advantage program at JRPLA. Programming will take place from June 7th-July 14th. The best part is that this opportunity is completely FREE! Additional information can be found below. Reserve your place today!
The window for parent input on school ESSER funds has re-opened and available for you to complete a survey. If you previously completed an ESSER survey, it is not necessary for you to do again. The window will remain open until June 24th.
