SMS Sports Card Club
SMS CARD CLUB RAISES $219.90 for a local food bank
The Stonybrook Middle School Sports Card Club hosted their six annual spring Sports Cards and Collectables Show on Saturday, May 12th. The club held a silent auction at the show and one at school for the teachers and staff. The SMS Sports Card Club collected $219.90 from the two silent auctions. The club made the donation to Southeast Helping Hands. "It's always great to give to others, especially to an organization like Southeast Helping Hands who help the less fortunate in our community," stated SMS Sports Card Club organizer Mr. Don Dewey. A special thank you goes out to this year's silent auction donors:
Alpha Hockey Inc.
Mitchell Express Foods
Steinbach Pistons Hockey Club
Ms. Melissa Mathew
Mr. Brad Unger
Mrs. Brenda Wolf

SMS SPORTS CARD CLUB BUYS GROCERIES FOR SEHH.
Our SMS Sports Card Club sold bottles of water again this year for 25 cents. The 10 cent profit from each bottle of water sold was used to buy groceries for Southeast Helping Hands. This school year, the club sold 285 bottles of water. Therefore, $28.50 was spent on non-perishable food items that were donated to Southeast Helping Hands on Friday, June 1st at the club's wind-up event.
HSD CELEBRATION OF ARTS at Clearspring Mall
SMS Students display some art projects
The HSD Festival of the Arts was created several years ago as a way to bring our schools together and celebrate student creative learning in dance, drama, music and visual arts. The 2018 festival took place May 30-June 2 at Clearspring Mall in Steinbach. Thanks for all your hard work! Thanks also to Mrs. Annette Loewen who did a lot of work setting these displays up at the mall.
