Urgent: Importance of Timeliness for School Success
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to address a concerning issue that has been persisting at our school recently: the high number of tardy students each day. As partners in your child's education, it is crucial for us to work together to ensure their success, and punctuality plays a significant role in this endeavor.
Statistics reveal a direct correlation between attendance, punctuality, and academic achievement. Students who consistently arrive late to school not only disrupt the learning environment for themselves but also for their peers. Moreover, tardiness can have long-term consequences on their educational journey and future opportunities.
Consider these key points:
1. Academic Success: Research consistently demonstrates that students who attend school regularly and arrive on time are more likely to excel academically. Each tardy arrival represents missed instructional time, hindering your child's ability to fully engage with the curriculum and grasp important concepts.
2. Development of Responsibility: Punctuality is a fundamental aspect of personal responsibility. By arriving to school on time, students learn the value of reliability, organization, and respect for schedules – essential skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
3. Impact on School Culture: Chronic tardiness not only affects individual students but also undermines the overall school environment. It disrupts the flow of lessons, interrupts classroom routines, and can create a sense of disorganization that hampers the learning experience for all students.
4. Preparation for the Future: In the professional world, being punctual is highly valued and often regarded as a reflection of one's work ethic and professionalism. Instilling good habits now will better prepare your child for success in college, career, and beyond.
As a community, we must prioritize the importance of punctuality and reinforce this message at home. Please take the time to discuss with your child the significance of arriving to school on time and help them establish a morning routine that allows for prompt attendance.
Together, we can create a positive and conducive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in this matter.
Sincerely,
Ms. Muhammad
California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS)
Your child is being asked to be a part of our school’s California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS), sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE). This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and well-being among our youth, improve the school learning environment, and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. Your child does not have to take the survey. Participation is voluntary and requires your permission.
