3rd Annual Student Leadership Summit
JFK Celebration of Learning and DANCE PARTY!
"The smiles on the children's faces were priceless," said Early Childhood Coordinator Rico Mariello. "Many danced with their friends while others held a hand of staff members as they bounced up and down. It was also a great way to relieve some of their energy!" On Facebook, a mom added, "My son came home singing and dancing for hours! He had so much fun!"
In working closely with Transforming Rural Experience in Education (TREE), Biddeford Schools were introduced to the concept of “Somedays”. This concept of honoring student voice by making “Someday at school” wishes come true is one of the many trauma-sensitive, resilience-focused best practices explored by our partnership with TREE.
BPS Polar Express Event
"Family engagement is vital in connecting home and school," said Principal Margaret Pitts. "These fun events allow students to share their learning environment with their parents or guardians as well as staff to engage face-to-face with the important adults in their lives. It promotes a fun environment without the stress of the school day structure."
In addition to this Family Literacy Night, BPS staff read to students on Facebook live at 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Tune in to the BPS Facebook page to enjoy the story!
