The students used their narrative writing skills to write about their great adventures over Spring Break . Enjoy reading their great work!
TEACHER OF THE WEEK--Melissa Cota- Third Grade Teacher
Hi! My name is Mrs. Cota, I grew up in Irving, Texas, and I am the first person in my family to graduate from college. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2005. I didn't know I wanted to be a teacher until I became a parent. I knew right away that this was the career for me. I absolutely love to see the "light bulb moments" when children learn a new concept. This is my 11th year of teaching, and my 2nd year at Chavez. I absolutely love my Chavez family. I am married to an amazing man named Gary, and we have 2 beautiful daughters, Avery and Corinne (a 3rd grader at Chavez). We enjoy camping with family and friends. We own a camper; we also enjoy pulling the camper across the country. This summer we will be camping on the beach in Florida. I also enjoy baking and decorating cakes in my spare time.
