Principal's Message
May 8, 2020
Hello Willink Families,
I want to start by wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day Weekend! I hope that all of us can find new ways to recognize and celebrate the amazing mothers in our lives.
Following the final closure of schools for the year, many of you reached out about locker cleanout, yearbooks, the return of materials, and many other important logistical questions. While we do not have a finalized answer, please know that we are working as a building and as a district to develop plans for these tasks and I hope to be able to share details by this time next week.
As we plan for the fall and beyond, I also want to share that we are rescheduling our 8th Grade Washington, D.C. trip to the spring of 2021. I want to thank Jason Simoni, our Green House Assistant Principal, for his tireless work in preparing for this trip and hurdling this unforeseen obstacle so that we can preserve this experience for next year’s 8th graders. A letter with more details will be coming out shortly to our 7th grade families and we hope to have finalized dates to share next week.
If you have not already, please consider completing the WCSD Virtual Learning Survey that went out to all parents last week. We had over 3000 responses and appreciate the feedback.
To close out this week, I’m happy to share a congratulatory message about one of our Blue 7 students, Helene G, whose poetry submission has been selected to be published on poeterypower.com. Please see below for a copy of her poem and a brief description of this accomplishment. You make us all proud Helene!
Take care,
Brian

Helene G, a 7th grader at Willink MS, took advantage of this opportunity and will now see her poem Red in print. Students, enter your poems at poetrypower.com!
