Important Notes
-Please be on time to school. We are having way too many tardies every morning. Dropoff begins at 7:15, then traffic is much lighter between 7:20 and 7:35. The tardy bell rings at 7:45.
-As per federal guidelines, we do not allow cupcakes or other freshly-baked goods to be sent/brought to a class. Only pre-packaged, single-serving snacks are allowed.
Please think of the safety of the children (and the adults in carpool) and keep your cell phones put away during carpool times.
Is your child missing a jacket, lunch kit, eye glasses, etc? Well they may be in the Lost and Found bin. We cleared out the items from 1st semester... these are from Jan 5 to the present. Please ask your child to visit the bin in the front office if they have lost something.
Friday, February 3rd: Wear an E.R. Dickson spirit shirt, with uniform bottoms, for our Honors Day Parade.
Friday, February 10th: Wear a green shirt, with uniform bottoms, for Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Week (February 13-18)
Tuesday, February 14th: Wear a red, pink, or Valentine’s Day themed shirt, with uniform bottoms.
Friday, February 17th: Wear a purple, yellow, or green shirt for Mardi Gras, with uniform bottoms.
February 2: 4th grade goes to Montgomery
February 3: Honors day parade- will be LiveStreamed; times to be announced
February 14: In-school Valentines dances, 4th and 5th grades.
February 20-24: Mardi Gras holiday, no school
March 6-10: Book Fair
March 7: Blood drive
March 16: Dress for Success Pictures (pre-pay)
March 24: 5th Grade goes to Gulfport aquarium
April 17-21: Spring Break
May 1-5: Teacher Appreciation Week
May 25: Last day for students

Celebrating National Big Wig Day, just for fun. :-)
Congratulations to our Robotics team for dominating at the Vex Robotics competition at Davidson on Saturday! They won the overall Excellence Award for Elementary Schools, the Teamwork Champion Award, and the Robot Skills Champion! All those afternoon and Saturday practices sure did pay off!
The window for students to apply to a magnet school is still open!
Please consider a magnet school for your 5th grader as you consider which school would be the best fit for them next year.
