Come Join SHAC (School Health Advisory Council)
Are you a parent of a current Humble ISD student? Are you interested in student health and wellness programming?
Humble ISD has 3 open parent positions on the Humble ISD SHAC.
SHAC is an advisory committee that provides guidance, recommendations and assistance to the Board of Trustees on a variety of issues relating to student health and wellness. SHAC meets at least 4 times a year. Membership is comprised of parents, community members, and district representatives who work with students and public health officials on promoting school health on topics ranging from nutrition to fitness to substance abuse prevention. Serving on this council provides an opportunity for all members to gain a greater understanding, awareness, and appreciation for current and prospective health and wellness programming throughout the district. To be eligible for one of the open parent spots on SHAC, you need to be the parent of a currently enrolled Humble ISD student and cannot be a current District employee.
If you would like to join SHAC, please email SHAC Facilitator Helen Wagner at Helen.Wagner@humbleisd.net.

Attendance Tips
Did you know that students who are frequently tardy miss out on important morning instruction that helps prepare them for the learning they will do that day? Adjusting morning routines at home can help you get your awesome Eagles to school by 7:50 am, and help them S.O.A.R. throughout the day!
All student absences should be reported to the Front Office as soon as possible, or within 48 hours of a student’s return to campus. Absences will only be excused once documentation is received. Please pick ONE of the following 4 ways to report your student’s absence:
Email the Attendance Office at shannon.wild@humbleisd.net
Send Parent Note or Doctor Note with Student
Call 281-641-3103 (24h automated attendance line)
Fax Parent or Doctor Note to 281-641-3117
Students may be checked out through the day until 2:30pm (11:30pm on early dismissal days). This helps the staff prepare for dismissal at the end of the school day.
Anyone who wishes to check out a student must:
be listed as a student's guardian or emergency contact (contact the Front Office if changes need to be made)
present a valid photo ID that matches the name on the student’s emergency contact list.
