The beautiful fall weather calls for some outside time! Whether you are a digital learner or here in person, Walk to School Day is a great reason to get outside and take a walk. If you are walking to school, remember school starts at 8am. Ms. Greenblat, Ms. Gann and others will be outside on the drive to welcome you. If you're a digital learner head out and walk around your neighborhood. Take a picture and post it on Buddy's Bit. The reasons for participation remain the same - physical activity, concern for the environment and social connectedness!
VOTE!
Tuesday, November 3
Gwinnett voters will be asked to consider continuing the E-SPLOST (education special purpose local option sales tax). Over the years, Gwinnett students and school communities have benefited from the E-SPLOST which has provided thousands of needed classrooms as well as technology improvements that are essential to teaching and learning.
Visit the site below for key facts about the proposed E-SPLOST that will appear on the 2020 ballot.
From Mrs. Wright...
Hello Craig Families,
We are so thankful to continue to bring students back to our school. We've had some really great days, and we know that it will only get better!
Just a reminder that on the GCPS survey where you selected digital learning or in-person learning, you were asked to make the commitment for the semester. At this time, we have worked hard to ensure that those students who selected in-person learning are placed in classrooms which allow us to maximize space and support social distancing and reduced class sizes. Changes for individual students are being considered for the second nine weeks, if needed to better serve the students. We will be doing individual consideration of students based on a student’s and families’ needs. Parents wanting an instructional learning change for second nine weeks need to complete the following survey by October 5, 2020 at 9a.m. Once the school is able to review all of the information, we will communicate with each family.
I am so incredibly happy to serve the wonderful students and staff of Craig ES.
I appreciate your support!
Angie Wright

Early Release
AKS at Home
You are an important partner with your child’s teacher, whether your child is learning at home or at school. To help you support your child’s learning, GCPS is launching a new initiative called AKS at Home. With this project, families will learn ways to help their child practice skills they are learning in class as part of the district’s Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum. See the upcoming Zoom sessions below. If you can’t make the live sessions or missed the live sessions for K - 3rd grade, you will have access to a library of recorded sessions and tipsheets, available when you’re available. Find more information on the AKS at Home web page.

Free Math Tutoring through BHS NHS
Brookwood High School National Honor Society is working with Covac Education, a student-run organization, to provide free tutoring sessions for elementary students in math! For students to take advantage of this, they just simply sign up online using an appointment form. After doing so, students are individually paired with a tutor from an NHS or other honor societies/volunteer organizations.
All tutoring sessions are completely free and are paired with Common-Core/Georgia Standards worksheets to help students make the most of their time. Additionally, all instructors are trained and have access to teaching directions based on specific Georgia standards (1nbt1, 1oa1 etc.).
