MoB (Matters of Business)
Edgewood's Weekly Staff Update for the week of 5/28-5/31
We are committed to the journey of developing EACH child to be an inspired learner and a caring, contributing citizen.
Learning Notes
I can't believe we have 9 days left. As with most school years, this one has dragged and flown, and somehow, here we are, in the last week of May. Friday had some great highlights. In order to not lose them in the flurry of Memorial Day weekend, I jotted some down. Here were some of my favorite quotes from George Curos.
- "Learning is your job [as an educator]."
- "Often our biggest barrier to innovation is our own way of thinking"
- "Learner driven, evidence informed"
- "As the world moves forward, if you're standing till, you're falling behind."
- "Innovation begins with empathy. Who are we serving?"
- "You can't jump straight to the teaching without doing the learning."
- "We need to make the positives so loud that the negatives are almost impossible to hear."
- "CHANGE IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING AMAZING."
What stood out to you? What might you think we should talk about/do at Edgewood? Add them to this doc here.
On another note, thank you to those of you who've provided me feedback. It's helping to solidify ideas for next year. If you have time to add thoughts and haven't done so yet, please do so by Wednesday. The survey is anonymous.
TCB (Taking Care of Business)
- I'll let you decide whether you get your report cards to me on Friday or Monday; I'll review them on a 1st come, 1st served basis.
- HERE is the BOY schedule.
- A reminder that All of the UBD modules should be complete by the end of the school year. There are 6 modules.
- In the Edgewood All Team Drive, you'll find a template to fill out for summer POs. Holly will place POs over the summer.
Staff Shout Outs to...
Mireille, Lori, Jenna, Jennifer, and Sue for presenting breakout sessions on Friday. Way to represent and share!
Thank you to Michelle for sharing her space and ALL her stuff without hesitation.--Lisa
To Michelle and Lisa, for working to bring a new vision of 4K to life. It took a lot of courage to launch into something new, and it's amazing to see how far our kids have come.

To Sue, Carrie, Mireille, and Lori, for serving on LEAP for us this year. We appreciate having your voices at the table and helping guide us as we move forward.
To Jenny, Diane, and Jenna, who have served on the Inclusion Task Force this year. You have embarked on hard work, and we appreciate your dedication.
To our SLAIT team, for your dedication throughout this past year, working to help us to learn continuously and push ourselves to be the best school we can be: Jenna Stoner, Rebecca Perkins, Jenny Steiner, Mireille Hess, Carrie Schuett, Jenna Lepine, Jennifer Hannis, Nicki Lange.
To our Core Character Team--Jackie Michlig, Sarah Jegier, Jessie Lepper, Rebecca Perkins, Mireille Hess, Sue Adkins, Jodi Plott, Kathy Heidt--for keeping us focused and fresh. Character ed isn't a "one and done" venture, and you've kept us moving.
