2019 L.I.G.H.T Teen Summit! Living In Good Health Together!

L2C is excited to announce 2BeMoreAware initiative to support mentally healthier teens!

Why get involved?
2BeMoreAware is a healthy movement initiative designed to generate an awareness of mental health topics, which allows for youth, mental health organizations, counselors and faith-based leaders to work collaboratively to execute ongoing mental health awareness activities, unique to each youth and community.

The kick-off:
The initiative began with Teen Mental Health Listening Sessions across the District of Columbia metropolitan area This catalyst event brings together over 100 youth (ages 13-19) and their parents to participate in a powerful day of sharing, learning, and the event combines community support resources, large group presentations, local celebrities, inspirational speakers, and small group discussions.

It is designed to generate an awareness of mental health topics, while actively empowering youth to take responsibility in leading a climate of well-being and resiliency within their lives. Support and partnerships will utilize their learning from the day to spark meaningful mental health promotions amongst teens, and leave the event with year-long, youth-led project action plans to address mental health topics in their lives, schools and communities.
