Happening this week...
Thank you for a great week of STAAR testing. Chromebooks came to school charged and ready and testers were well prepared. Each day the schedule had different challenges and expectations and everyone adapted beatifully.
Also as we approach the end of the school year, please be viligant about completing work. Check Skyward often to insure you are maintaining the grades you desire.
All library books are due this Friday, May 19.

College and Career~ Ms. Beam, Ms. Parker, Mrs. Frantom
- Mrs. Frantom’s class is going to continue working on Geologists.
Mrs. Beam and Ms. Parker’s College and Careers class will be working on creating a job description and interview questions based on their dream career. This is a week long project that will be due on Friday.

- Mrs. Irons will be out Wednesday and Thursday for training. Students will be expected to start preparing for their semester exam on these days.
Pre-AP Math ~ Mrs. Justice and Ms. Gregg
This week we will review how to solve one variable, one-step equations. We will then further our study to the 7th grade material where we will solve one variable, two-step equations.
We will complete IXL lessons over two-step equations. Please make sure your child has a charged Chromebook each day.
STEAM Math ~ Mrs. Justice
This week we will continue to review the skills that we are still struggling with in 6th grade. We will be working with integers, fractions, decimals, and percents. Please make sure your child comes to school with a charged Chromebook and pencils each day.
All missing assignments must be completed this week.
Accelerated Math ~ Mrs. Fisher
This week we will continue our Algebra Introduction by multiplying monomials, binomials, and polynomials using the box method. Students will learn about the multiplication properties of exponents as it applies to variables. This is a major foundational piece of where students will begin in Algebra I next year.
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, and Mrs. Strother
- World Cultures is concluding our study of Asia and will test over China and Japan on Wednesday May, 17.
- Students are continuing a unit on poetry by woking through 8 stations, each focusing on a type of poetry.
- Ms. Strother's GT Students are continuing their study of drama through reading a script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
- Ms. Moore's GT students are comparing different generes to drama through reading a script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Art ~ Mrs. Beam
Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert
Our end of the year concert is this week on Thursday the 18th at Centennial HS!!! The concert begins at 6:30pm and students need to arrive by 5:45pm.
Students will be working on their scales and preparing for their end of the year band placement auditions. Which will also take place this week.
P.E. ~ Coach Woolsey
Rounding out the last couple weeks with: Badminton, Lacrosse, Pickleball, & Kickball We will learn rules and skills for these various activities Weather (fields being dry & wind) will dictate the rotation Don’t forget your uniform & water bottle EVERYDAY!! Only 2 more MONday FUNday RUNdays left!! (NOT that the students are counting!!)
