JLS Course Selection Information
Happy New Year!
It is time to start planning for the 2023-2024 school year.
The purpose of this newsletter is to share some important information with you regarding the course selection process.
Please reach out to the grade level counselor if you have any questions or concerns.

Rising 7th & 8th Grade Students
Counselors will be visiting History classes February 1st-13th to assist students with selecting their elective courses for next year. We encourage parents to begin talking with your student(s) about what electives they are interested in taking.
Teacher recommendations: Your student's current teachers will be making course recommendations for the core subjects - English, Math, Science and History. Your student should be able to view these recommendations under the Course Request tab in StudentVue in early February. If you have questions or concerns regarding a recommended course, please reach out to the individual teacher.

Course Selection Timeline
February 1-13: Counselors will meet with 6th & 7th grade students to select elective courses.
Late February: Course request letters will be sent to parents/guardians via PermissionClick.
Parents should review list of courses and either confirm or request changes.
March 10: Course request responses/confirmations due via PermissionClick.
June 8: No course changes will be made after this date.

Counselors from Loudoun County, Heritage and Tuscarora will be at Simpson February 6th & 7th to assist students with making their elective course selections for next year.
