Love reading? Interested in looking at mental health through the lens of literature?

Look no further! DHS is offering a staff book study beginning in January to look at tackling mental health issues with teens through YA literature. The idea was brought to life through a School Library Journal article about the topic, which I will share with you. We will meet the first Friday morning of each month (unless that Friday falls during a break!), beginning on January 8!

Kaldi's Coffee

Our first meeting will take place on January 8! We are scheduled to meet from 7:30 - 8:30. In the past we have had these meetings off campus at a restaurant or coffee shop to remove ourselves from our everyday atmosphere. Tentatively we are thinking we will meet at Kaldi's Coffee. Let me know if you have any questions!

Articles to Read Before Meeting

Definitely these...

These is you have time...

Resources are also in the Schoology group on Teens and PTSD, our January discussion topic. Please read a couple plus one book from the book list. Let me know if you want to be added to the book discussion group, even if you can't make our first meeting!
