The Grove
Oak Grove Elementary School
Note from Principal Graham
B-I-N-G-O!!! It was great to hear this sound last Friday night. Thank you to our PTA and all the families that joined us for our Free Bingo Night. Check out the pictures below. We also appreciate your support as our PTA fall fundraiser has begun. It has been a “jaw-some” week at The Grove. On Thursday, we participated in ROCK YOUR SCHOOL! Where our teachers created an outside-the-box experience for our students by finding new ways to capture their attention. Check out our pictures that show the excitement our students have for learning.
Don’t forget that this coming Wednesday, September 25th is our first Collaborative Planning Day. The school will dismiss at 11:40. Please make sure your child’s teacher knows how they will get home this day.
Thank you to our parents who joined us for our Orientation Night. If you were not able to come, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher. Working together, we are stronger to help your child meet their goals.

From Your Parent Liaison:
Hello OGES Families!
It has been a great start to our school year! I am in the process of going through Volunteer
Forms and setting up times for people to come in and help! I have been overwhelmed at your
willingness to give of your time to help our students and staff! Remember that you MUST go
online and register to be approved to volunteer in our school. If you have not done that yet,
please go to our school website as soon as possible (http://oges.lexington1.net/), click under the
“Volunteer” tab, then follow the link. If you have any problems doing this please let me know
and I will help you through this process! Thank you!!
On Friday September 13, you should have received a four-page packet with Title I information.
It is very important that you read these forms and sign the one page asking for a signature. You
can send this signature page in with your student to give to their teacher or you can mail this
form in to the attention of Christi Graham. Again thank you for taking the time to do this. If you
have any questions about Title I, please call me or one of our administrators. We are happy to
answer any questions you have.
On Mondays, beginning on September 23 and going through November 18 , the Richland
County Library is offering a workshop for people who are raising children for relatives or
friends. This is a FREE, nine-week workshop where you can be given support, meet other
kinship caregivers, and learn how to help children regulate emotions, feel connected, and build
strengths. Dinner will be provided! If you want to attend this workshop you can register online
at Richlandlibrary.com or call and register over the phone with Leah McCleskey at 929-2417.
This is open to all Lexington County people as well as Richland County people. If you are in
this position of helping to raise someone else’s children, I hope you will take advantage of this
opportunity!
As always, if I can be of any assistance to you here at OGES, please call me, email me, or come
see me! I am here to help you!
