Enfield Head Start, Integrated Pre-K, PK STEAM Academy
Welcome to School Year 2020-2021!
Thank you for a wonderful first week of school! Whether you are a Head Start, Integrated, or PK STEAM family/student, your participation and partnership has started this year off on a positive note. Classrooms were full of activity from playful lessons on mask wearing to families teaching teachers about who there child is. Thank you to all PK families for sharing your kids with us either in person or remotely. Thank you to Head Start and PK STEAM families for spending time with us this week in preparation for next week. Hybrid and remote learning is still new to all of us. We appreciate your patience as we navigate technical difficulties and work to ensure an efficient schedule. Please reach out to let us know how things are going. Your feedback is supportive of our continuous improvement. Have a safe and relaxing weekend! See you next week!
We have rerouted drop off and pick up to our exterior classroom doors. You will find helpful information and child created "work" displayed on the windows for you to check out while waiting!
Staff has been working tirelessly to ensure classroom environments that set kids up for success while implementing health and safety protocols. Tape, name bubbles, individual sensory bins (featuring IPS student, Jackson, playing in his own bin of sand), signs, socially distanced daily greetings, etc. give students a sense of independence and support engagement!
Masks are not required in PK, but we strongly encourage them. I am nothing short of impressed by how well these little ones keep their masks on! Health and safety has always been a priority in early childhood programs, but now more than ever it is our responsibility to help our kids become independent at protecting themselves from illness. We are having a lot of fun adding masks to our play! Click below for videos on mask etiquette and wearing a mask at school!
Free Parent Webinar: How Do Families Support the 1st 100 Days
Tuesday, Sep. 15th, 6:30-7:30pm
This is an online event.
This school year will bring with it the relief of the return to routine and all the usual nervous energy of a new school year, compounded by the trepidation of our new post COVID-19 reality. Children, more than ever, will need our guidance and assurance that school is a place where people care about them and are there to help. Identifying the values, practices and priorities we wish to hold sacred simplifies the path. In this workshop we will discuss how to support children in those early days of their new school reality.
