What's happening this week?

*If your child or any member of your immediate household is tested for COVID, please keep them home until you get the test results. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

*This week is 5th grade LEAP testing. We are ready for our 5th graders to show how much they've learned this year! We know that they are going to do great and we are counting on them to do their best each day.

*We are continuing our end of the year tests and it's so important for students to do their best. We have seen great growth this year and are so proud of their hard work! Now is the time to show how much they've learned. Please encourage them daily to do their best and give their best effort. It's not summer yet but it's getting closer!

*Please be sure that you are sending a water bottle with your child each day. We have water for refills but can't supply multiple bottles each week to students. Thank you for your help with this.

*Beginning next year, we will be using the PowerSchool Parent Portal for all school forms. No more filling out papers and returning them at the beginning of the year. Yippee! If you have not created an account, we ask that you set up your account asap. You can do it on your phone or computer. Watch for notes going home with those who don't have accounts set up yet.

*This weather is getting warmer and we are thankful for some sunshine. Most students really don't need jackets outside and we need your help to remind them they don't need to wear them at PE or outside as the temps are rising. We don't need anyone to overheat.

*With warmer weather coming, please remember that skirts and shorts need to be no more than 4 inches above the knee. Many students have grown taller since the beginning of school so please be sure to check those skirts and shorts to be sure they're not too short.

*Dress code reminders: Jackets must fully zip from top to bottom (no hoodies that don't fully zip) and leggings must be navy, white, or gray. No patterns allowed. Shirts worn under uniform shirts must be white or navy.

*Be sure to write your child's name inside of their jackets. This helps if they misplace their jacket.

*Please check to be sure that your 3rd-5th grader has their mask each day. If they forget it and they ride on the bus, they don't get one until they get to school. We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe.

*Please remember to check PowerSchool often as that is the best way to see current grades. Be sure that you are encouraging your student to do their best everyday. It is much easier to begin with good grades than it is to pull low grades up from incomplete or missing assignments.

*If you have not paid your student's supply fee, please pay it as soon as possible.

*If you have a new address and/or contact numbers, please call the office so we can be sure to get those updated.

*Be sure that you join the teacher and bus driver REMIND groups and follow our FB page and our school website.

*We are doing our part to get info out to you so please help us by sharing information and helping us reach all parents.

Thank you for sending these notes for our great staff!

Great job Mrs. Hart!

Kimberly Barber, Kindergarten parent, sent this sweet note about Mrs. Hart.

Mrs. Hart did an amazing job this school year with my son. He’s improved reading, spelling and math so much. He understands a lot more and can’t wait for 1st grade because of her! She has so much patience and kindness towards my son! We love her so much!

Thank you Mrs. Barber for recognizing the great job that Mrs. Hart does with her students.

Thank you Mrs. Easley!

Mrs. Easley, you are always amazing with your students and they love the daily activities you have prepared for them. No matter what, you are always eager to help anyone that needs help. Thanks for being a positive part of our lives and for always giving a 110%.

Thank you Mrs. Easley for all that you do for the students and staff!

Parents, want to send a staff shout out?

Click the link below to send your note. If you have any trouble, please email and we'll be sure to send along the shoutout. You can choose to be anonymous or be named. Thanks for your help!

Get those PK applications submitted to be reviewed for the first round!

The online application window for PK OPENS on Mon, April 5th and closes on April 30th for Round 1. We will not have an in-person application day. This lets everyone have the same opportunity to get their applications in on the first round of applications. HAVE your documents ready now (Birth certificate, social security card, immunization records, 4 proofs of residency, proof of income) so that you are ready to get your application in as soon as the first round opens!

Current PK students do not have to register for Kindergarten unless you have moved and need to submit new residency papers. If you are on a Residency Affidavit, that must be updated each summer and you can register for Kindergarten during the summer registration.

Big picture

If you missed early Kindergarten registration, you can come in the summer to register. Watch our FB page to see the dates in July we will begin registering.

Interested in learning more about sign language?

Check out this resource that Mrs. Andrea shared with us. Many of our students have learned some American Sign Language (ASL) from Mrs. Andrea. We'd love you to check out this resource and learn another way to communicate with all of our Broncos.

LPPS Family Resource Center is now open! Check out their FB page below.
