Dear Families,
December will be a busy month at our campus. End-of-semester testing will take place as well as STAAR Interim Testing Dec. 6-8 for 3rd-6th grade students.
We are kindly asking all our parents to refrain from scheduling doctor appointments during that week to prevent any conflict with students missing tests. The campus will be closed to outside visitors. All food deliveries will not be permitted, so please plan accordingly.
STAAR Interim Assessments.
The Interim Assessments are a tool that provides actionable data to help educators monitor progress and predict student performance on the STAAR summative tests.
Interim assessments are a way to monitor academic improvement, especially for students who are consistently performing below grade-level.
The Interim Assessments are delivered in an online format through the STAAR Online Testing Platform. STAAR Interim Assessments include test questions developed with Texas teachers and STAAR summative test questions from previous years. The test questions have been field tested and are fully aligned to the TEKS. The STAAR Interim Assessments use mostly multiple-choice questions and some griddable questions (in certain mathematics and science assessments only).
The night before testing:
Get enough sleep. Don’t stress about the test. YOU GOT THIS!
Charge your Chromebook
Double check that your headphones work
Prepare scratch paper, pencils, dictionary (allowed in ELA tests) and any supplemental aids you frequently use in class.
Thank you so much for your continued support. Please let me know if you have any questions, or ways that I can help your child succeed through this testing period.
Kind Regards,
Heather Gregory, Testing & Federal Programs Coordinator

Home Visits!
Hello Harmony families!
The school year is in full swing, and as your principal, I’d like to thank you again for the wonderful privilege of educating your student.
In Harmony’s continued effort to build stronger relationships between our campus and your family, I encourage you to take advantage of our Home Visit program.
Harmony’s home visit program is nearly as old as the school system itself, beginning in 2001, just one year after the first campus opened its doors. If you volunteer for this service, your student’s teacher will come by your home on an evening of your choosing to provide you with educational resources and answer any questions.
Harmony’s teachers and staff have seen home visits improve the communication between families and their campus. Students realize their parents and teachers are working together for their benefit, often resulting in improved classroom behavior and academic success.
Harmony teachers visit more than 7,000 homes each year, and we want to make sure your student receives this helpful tool. To receive your own home visit, please fill out this form below. Please sign up before Aug. 10 and your name will go into a drawing for a book basket. If you have any questions, please email hgregory@harmonytx.org
