Pleasant Hill Weekly Update
November 13, 2020
Message from Mrs. Steele
I know there are a lot of communications coming your way each week and hope you are able to look through our school newsletter and our district newsletter. Please note that next Wednesday, November 18th and Wednesday, December 2nd are now non-student days. This means that we will not have any Google Meets or Seesaw assigned activities on these days so that our teachers can attend professional development related to remote teaching and learning. On behalf of our staff, we really appreciate your support! Should we go fully remote at any point this year, our planning will help make the transition very smooth for your student and family.

Stuff the Bus 2020
We are participating once again in the annual Stuff the Bus fundraiser, even though we are doing things a little differently this year! Our students have made cards for Preble Street (see picture below) and we are encouraging families to donate via the link below.
The Rewind 100.9 main landing page includes all the details about why donations are critically important this year, and how much some of the donation tiers support. Thank you!
From Nurse Dorice
Just a quick check-in to say how much we appreciate you and your continued compliance with all of the pandemic protocols. We recognize how hard it is to keep your kiddos home with cold symptoms that you wouldn't have thought twice about before sending them to school last year. I am in awe with the way the children have persevered and believe that to be a direct result of the amazing guidance and support they are receiving at home. We see you and SO appreciate all you are doing to help keep our schools up and running. Pandemic fatigue is real and understandable and seems to be settling in around us while numbers are increasing. Please continue to complete your child's pre-screening checklist prior to sending them each morning and to keep them home, where they are the most comfortable, when they aren't feeling 100%. We are so grateful for you and all the extra precautions you have been taking. THANK YOU!
Travel Reminders
As we approach the upcoming Thanksgiving break, we want to remind everyone that per the updated travel restrictions issued by the Governor of Maine effective November 4th, 2020, all Maine residents returning to Maine upon return from a visit out of state (or country) must either quarantine for 14 days or receive a negative COVID-19 test with a sample taken less than 72 hours from arrival back to Maine, quarantining while awaiting test results, per the Keep Maine Healthy Plan. At this time, the only states exempt from this restriction are New Hampshire and Vermont. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts are no longer on the exempt list for travel.
We will continue to update you with any changes in the Maine CDC/DOE guidelines as we receive them.
