Principal's Perspective
A quick reminder that next week is a 3-day week for students due to staff professional development and conferences. We appreciate all of you who have already met with your child's teacher and those who have scheduled conferences for next week. Conferences are an integral part in connecting home and school and you are a valued part of the team!
The end of the first trimester is next week and report cards will be available electronically or online around November 15th.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Good luck to our Rocks football team tonight!
In partnership,
Mary Beth Fischer

Happy Friday families!
Parent Drop Off
With the darker mornings, and the upcoming time change, we wanted to remind families of our parent drop off procedures.
Please make sure you are in the parking lot between 7:35-7:45 to assure your child can get out of the car, and to class on time. Drop off times are 7:35-7:50 (at the 1-4 line) and 7:40-7:50 (at the K line). Once the bell rings, we will hand out late passes for those who just pulled up. Once the doors close, you will need to sign in your child in the office. Please bring your phone to sign in.
A couple of additional tips to assure the line continues to move smoothly:
Grades 1-4 drop off
Please remember to pull all the way up so we can fit several cars in the drop off zone.
Students should get out of the car when you are anywhere in the drop off zone. When students don’t get out, this causes back ups. (The drop off zone goes from the front of the side walk, all the way down the fence line. The lines on the pavement are the walking zone.)
Make sure bags are ready, so they can get out as soon as you pull up.
Kindergarten (and siblings), Bikers, and walkers at door 1
Make sure bags are ready, so they can get out as soon as you pull up.
If you arrive late, please walk your child inside. Do not send them to the door alone if there are not adults outside.
If you are a biker or walker, please use the sidewalk along 171st street and come in through the main entrance. We have staff to help with traffic control and we will greet you at door 1.
Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing the kids next week!

baudl@wws.k12.in.usSquare 1 Art Fundraiser
Hello Families,
Your child should have received a catalog with free stickers of their art this week. You can keep the free stickers and order any items to be shipped to your home, with all orders needing to be placed by 11/10 to arrive before winter break.
If you did not get a catalog simply search for your child's art using the art search tool at: https://shop.square1art.com/Shop/artwork/search, and enter state, school name, and your student's name. Your student's art and code will appear, and you may order!
Parents can also upload additional art online if you want artwork for a child not at MGES or a different work of Art.
Thank you for supporting our school!

Lunch Visitor Sign Ups!
For student safety and to accommodate our limited cafeteria seating, we are allowing our families to visit once a trimester. To be prepared for our guests and to check the Safe Visitor Registration of incoming visitors (this is required for every visitor) please make sure you register 24 hours in advance.
We allow 5 visitors per grade level lunch. Please use one slot per person signing up. Due to limited space, visitors will be sitting with their child(ren) at their classroom tables. You have the option of bringing in a home packed lunch or purchasing a lunch at school. No fast food will be allowed at this time. Lunch menus can be found here. The price of an adult lunch is $4.80.
Attendance
Please do this even if you let your child's classroom teacher know about the absence. This will ensure that our attendance secretary receives the information.
Dismissal Changes
If you have a dismissal change, please let the front office know by 1:00pm. This gives the office enough time to notify your child is where they’re supposed to be at the end of the day! Please DO NOT leave dismissal changes on the attendance line.
To notify the front office of a dismissal change, call (317) 896-4700, or email:
