There is a small reception afterwards - anticipate a cake and some drinks!
Registration Day and Hype Day Schedule
Registration day is now taking place in May to help with a few things:
1) An accuracy of program numbers for marching show design, instrument usage, booster budget flow, etc.
2) Most importantly to help families who chose the fee payment plan to have more months to pay out.
Registration day on May 13th is mandatory for all students and will be in conjunction with Hype day.
When you drop off your students for Hype day, they will join the staff to begin and the parents will go through registration. Students will not be fit for uniform parts until July summer band camp.
Parents-
Please make sure at least one of you is there that morning to get students registered and to begin your band fee payments.
Schedule for Registration and Hype Day:
Hype Day
8:00am - 12:30pm: Students at Hype Day
12:30pm - 1:00pm: Hype Day Preview Performance
1:00pm - 1:30pm: Parent Meeting
Registration
8:00am-12:00pm: Registration Open
Parents as you drop off your students please make your way over to the Choir Room for Registration. (If your child drives themselves, please plan on arriving between 10:00am-12:00pm to make sure you have enough time to register before the Hype Day performance.)
*Reminder, all students will be fit for uniforms and Drifit Nike wear in July during the first week of band camp. We will have a make-up registration day at the end of summer for families moving in.*
Information regarding fees and payment options will be coming out soon.
Lone Star Ambassadors of Texas
On May 18th, we will be hosting a meeting with representatives from the Lone Star Ambassadors of Music to discuss a bi-annual trip scheduled for the summer of 2018. All current Wakeland HS Band students, as well as band students currently in 7th and 8th grade, are cordially invited to attend this informational meeting.
The Lone Star Ambassadors and Voyageurs International have hosted band students from North Texas every other summer in Europe for many years. We had several Wakeland HS Band students on the 2016 trip. I will be sharing information over the next few weeks with you all, including testaments of our current students who have attended the trip.
If you think your child(ren) would be interested in looking at this 16-day European music tour, please consider attending the meeting. Even those who are looking to attend in 2020 can join us at this meeting to have it in consideration for the future.
