Weekly Updates from Big Walnut High School
December 18, 2020
We are so grateful that we have made it through an entire semester of in-person learning at BWHS! Our students have done a fantastic job of adjusting and following our safety protocols, our staff has worked tirelessly to adjust to the new demands of 2020, and our families have exhibited flexibility and understanding along the way. For all of this we are truly thankful!
We have two final days of semester exams next week and then we hope that each of you is able to relax and rejuvenate with your family and loved ones. We look forward to welcoming all of our students back on Tuesday, January 5, 2021!
BWHS Semester Exam Schedule
Does your student ride a bus?
Due to the number of students making changes to their learning option for the second semester, we are in the process of making bus route changes, which may affect your student’s bus pickup and drop-off times beginning on January 5, EVEN IF YOUR CHILD DID NOT MAKE A LEARNING OPTION CHANGE. You will be able to check for any changes through the PowerSchool online system beginning on December 23. Our system will not permit changes in the system prior to December 23 without creating problems for the current routing. It is important for all parents/guardians of students that ride a bus to log on to PowerSchool between December 23-January 4 to be aware of any potential changes. If you have any questions, please contact our transportation office at 740-965-8967.Thank you for your flexibility and understanding!

Dear Parents/Guardians of BWHS Seniors,
The time has come to send in your senior student’s adorable baby picture to appear in the 2021 yearbook, arriving this fall. Don’t miss this opportunity to surprise your senior student with a special memento.
This year, submissions will be accepted digitally, via email only. Submissions should include the following:
- senior baby picture, high resolution image, 3 x 5 or larger, portrait/vertical orientation preferred (scanned images should be 300 dpi)
- student’s name as you would like it to appear
- parent/guardian name and contact information in which you can be contacted in case there is an issue with submission
Please attach and include the above items in an email titled “Senior Baby Picture” to christynehorton@bwls.net.
Please note that your picture may be cropped or adjusted accordingly to meet the demands of size and space. Secondly, your picture can depict your senior student as a baby, toddler, or small child, but must be free from any inappropriate material. Lastly, taking a picture of a printed, physical photograph, will not be accepted due to issues surrounding quality and resolution.
