pta executive board nominations open
The following are brief descriptions of the various roles and responsibilities on the PTA Board.
The following positions are considered the PTA Executive Board.
VP Leadership - Shadows the President to prepare for the following year of service, attends all HPTC meetings at Central Office, assists with summer registration, Back to School lunch for teachers/staff, Soup lunch in January for teachers/students, coordinates Bridge to Berry for 5th grade students
VP Financial (two) - Coordinates all fundraisers: Leave a Legacy, Back to School Bingo, Movie Night
VP Membership - Keeps membership records, coordinates both Fall and Kindergarten registration with help of administration, and creates carpool tags
VP Programs (two) - Coordinates Room Coordinators for teachers, Parent Night teacher meals, Newcomer’s Coffee in Fall, Teacher Appreciation Week, Stock the Classroom
VP Student Programs - Helps library coordinate Young Author's Week and book fairs, Bus Safety in fall, Red Ribbon Week, Field Day, Senior Walk
Treasurer - Responsible for PTA funds and budget, annual audit
Assistant Treasurer - Assist Treasurer
Recording Secretary - Records minutes of meetings and oversees office supplies
The following positions are appointed positions. These positions will be appointed by the President at a later date. These are not a part of the elected slate, per the PTA bylaws.
Corresponding Secretary - Manages PTA bulletin board, Sunshine Committee: notes, flowers, cards on behalf of the board
Parliamentarian - Advises on parliamentary procedure, Chairman of Nominating Committee, and Lost and Found
Communications Director - Manages Marquee information/calendar and Social Media postings
Volunteer Coordinators - Compiles volunteer list and recruits volunteers for front office, book fair and related PTA activities, helps administration with set up and volunteers for hearing and vision screening and school pictures.

Pre-Registration for Pre-K has begun! We hope to be awarded two classroom grants next year.
Blue Out Day for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was a huge success! We raised $1,124.83 for JDRF. Thank you!
Family Math Night is Coming! All students who attend will earn 5 HOUSE Points!
Celebrating Our School Resource Officer
Fifth graders showed their love, respect, and appreciation for our amazing Officer Katie by presenting her with essays they had written and with roses. Congratulations to Maggie P. and Will J. whose essays were chosen to represent our school at the district level for this very valuable writing competition that honors our school SROs.
Congratulations to Chloe S. and James August B. for writing firefighter poems that will be sent to represent Greystone at the district level.

If you would like for your child to participate in the Birthday Book Club, please see the link below for details or email Mrs. Richey at jrichey@hoover.k12.al.us. Please do this by March 2nd to be included in the Birthday Book Club yearbook page for this year.
