Attention Parents!
This month's adventures are WEBELOS WALKABOUT, Webelos Handbook pg 99 and STRONGER, FASTER, HIGHER. Webelos Handbook pg. 87. These achievements are required adventures for Webelos rank.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN APRIL?
Adventures of the Month:
WEBELOS WALKABOUT, Webelos Handbook pg 99. Hiking is walking with a purpose. It is great exercise and a fun activity to do with your den or family. In the Webelos Walkabout adventure, you'll learn how to prepare for a hike, what you should bring along, and what you should do if there is an emergency. During your den hike, you'll also have the chance to do a service project.
STRONGER, FASTER, HIGHER. Webelos Handbook pg. 87. The Stronger, Faster, Higher adventure will help you understand how to exercise in a healthy and safe way and show you some creative ways to be active every day.
- Character Connection: Cheerful. A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy.
April 6
Requirement 1. Create a hike plan.
Requirement 2. Assemble a hiking first-aid kit.
Requirement 3. Describe and identify from photos any poisonous plants and dangerous animals and insects you might encounter on your hike.
Requirement 5. Recite the Outdoor Code and the Leave No Trace Principles for Kids from memory. Talk about how you can demonstrate them on your Webelos adventures.
APRIL 9 PACK 31 HIKE
Requirements 4. Before your hike, plan and prepare a nutritious lunch. Enjoy it on your hike, and clean up afterward.
Requirement 6. With your Webelos den or with a family member, hike 3 miles.
Requirement 7. Complete a service project on or near the hike location.
Requirement 8. Perform on of the following leadership roles during your hike: trail leader, first-aid leader, lunch leader, or service project leader.
April 13
Requirement 1. Understand and explain why you should warm up before exercising and cool down afterward. Demonstrate the proper way to warm up and cool down.
Requirement 2. Do these activities and record your results: 20-yard dash, vertical jump, lifting a 5-pound weight, push-ups, curls, jumping rope.
Requirement 3. Make and Exercise plan that includes at least three physical activities. Carry out your plan for 30 days, and write down your progress each week.
April 20
Requirement 4. With your den, prepare a fitness course or series of games.
Requirement 5. With adult guidance, help younger Scouts by leading them in a fitness game.
Requirement 6. Try a new sport that you have never tried before.
April 22
