ELD News: Pupil Count
Keeping you in the know!
Pupil Count
This year, DCSD's District Pupil Count deadline is September 21, 2017. All ELD Pupil Count paperwork must be uploaded into IC and submitted to Christina Levesque and Remy Rummel no later than the 4:00 p.m. on September 15, 2017. This deadline is a "hard" deadline, and there are no exceptions unless students enroll less than two weeks prior to September 15, 2017.
Pupil Count paperwork includes any change in student status:
- Identification (required for all potential ELs regardless of eligibility - ELs and PHLOTE/NQ)
- Re-designation
- Parent Refusal
- FEP to LEP
- Any change in student status
As Infinite Campus updates it's database, please be aware that our ELD LEP tabs will change. Stay tuned for more information!
ELD Google Site, Pupil Count Forms, and Tutorials
All Pupil Count forms have been updated with ESSA language and requirements. Please download the forms and type on each necessary form. Here is the LINK to the District ELD google site.
We are in the process of recording short video tutorials for each form and process. Completed recordings can be found on Frequently Used Documents - Identify. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click view.
ELD Think Tank August 24, 2017
This year, per your feedback and due to our need for a bit more time, our ELD Think Tanks will take place from 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
ELD Think Tank
August 24, 2017
HOPE Online
373 Inverness Drive, Englewood, CO
8:30-3:00
Due to an increase in fees for HOPE, we will change our structure and locations for the Think Tanks as HOPE is now too expensive for our department.
Regarding structure, we have split the ELD Think Tanks into two sessions. After our whole group meeting on August 24th, you will be assigned to Session 1 or Session 2. Please see this document for specific information.
The ELD Think Tank on August 24th is the ONLY time we will meet as a whole group this year.
ELD Think Tanks are required for all ELD specialists. If you are a secondary or kindergarten teacher, and you require a sub, please code your request as "ELD-Other Training".
If you are unable to attend, please notify Remy Rummel and Cindy Close, and connect with your ELD Lead to obtain information and complete action steps.
WIDA Workshops
We are excited to offer two WIDA workshops this year. Registration for the following workshops will open in December, 2017.
- Introduction to the WIDA Framework: February 20, 2018
- Formative Language Assessment: February 21-22, 2018
Supplemental Curriculum and Materials
You will receive more information about these materials, how to check them out, and more at our ELD Think Tank next week!
ACCESS Scores
CDE has provided new cut scores for ACCESS 2.0, and we will post these following our ELD Think Tank next week. Please note: the cut scores will be for ACCESS 2.0 and NOT for the W-APT. Stay tuned!
