Washington Weekly
January 27, 2022
We are still continuing to see positive COVID cases here at Washington. We ask that you continue to help us in every way to help prevent the spread here at school. It is the expectation of NPS that students and staff wear a mask and all visitors to the building are required to wear a mask.
Please contact the office immediately if you, your child, or a family member tests positive so we can provide quarantine guidance/information. If your child is ill and showing any COVID symptoms please call and visit with Ms. Shannon so she can walk you through illness and COVID protocols. Our goal is to keep everyone safe and well and we appreciate all you do to help us accomplish this.
We are also continuing to email parents of close contacts. As positive cases continue it is impossible for us to be able to make phone calls to everyone. Please make sure to check the email that you have on your Infinite Campus account regularly during this time.
As always, we are here to help your family in any way we can. Please reach out to us at lconnery@norman.k12.ok.us, slowery@norman.k12.ok.us or through the school # at 366-5984 if we can assist in any way.
Stay safe and well!

Can You Volunteer?
Washington Parents,
As you are likely aware, positive Covid cases continue to spike across the country, the state, and our community. Our school is no exception to this trend. Our top priority is your student’s health and safety and similarly, we want to take every step we can to keep school open for as long as possible for our students who depend on us each and every day.
Though we remain open for now, with the number of student absences and faculty absences, this is becoming more challenging. If you have the ability to help us out by volunteering to assist with supervision and help around the school we would love to have you.
To put your name on a list to volunteer please contact our office at 405-366-5984 and ask to speak to Wilnellia Lima. She can provide more information, including links to the volunteer form and required background check.
Share Fair Deadline Extended to February 1st!
Washington will host its annual Share Fair on Thursday, February 17th in the Washington library and gym. All students (grades K-5) are invited to create an individual invention, science fair project, history project, or art project at home for the fair. We will not be selecting winners. Instead, all students will receive recognition for their creativity and effort. The Share Fair exhibits will be set up for students to view during the day on Thursday, from 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM. On Thursday evening from 6:00 pm –7:30 pm, students will be able to share their presentation with observers, evaluators and Washington Families. (Projects will need to be cleaned up by students or parents after the evening session) Your child should have already come home with a letter about participating along with a form to be turned in. I am hoping to have over 150 projects on display. Please contact Mrs. Trumble with any questions. ( tammyt@norman.k12.ok.us )
