IMPACT AID ONLINE SURVEY IN YOUR FAMILY ACCESS ACCOUNT
http://family.northkitsap.wa-k12.net
Each year the North Kitsap School District applies for Federal Impact Aid funds from the Department of Education. The funds we receive are to compensate for the loss of local tax dollars from tax-exempt federal property.
The survey will once again be an Online Form in Family Access. It will take less than 1 minute to complete, so please take the time to fill out the survey as soon as it is available.
The amount of time you devote to the survey is significant, as it reaps great benefits for your child’s school.
If you have questions, please email districtrecords@nkschools.org or call 360-396-3588.
Thanks in advance for your participation!
communications@nkschools.org! We’ll be sharing these stories throughout the month with our principals.
Next Week is Discover U - Vinland Elementary Career and College Exploration Week. Click the picture above to see a slideshow of what next week entails for our students. LaPorte Report
Welcome back to school. My name is Jennifer La Porte and I am a Physical Education specialist at Vinland Elementary. The goal of PE is to facilitate a lifelong love of movement. We work hard to develop our skills, fitness, social interactions, emotional learning, and knowledge, all while being great sports. Naomi Nichols is another specialist where kids will learn PE standards, focusing on problem solving and social emotional skills.
It’s that time of year when I ask families for a Healthy Selfie! You can email the photos to me or send them to school with your student. We are looking for photos of your student or your family doing an activity that you find meaningful. Maybe your family loves hiking, soccer, going for a walk, or something else that you enjoy. Please send them in by the end of September - jlaporte@nkschools.org
Finally, it is really important that your child has gym shoes for PE days. If you are not sure what day PE is, let me know or ask your classroom teacher.
Thank you, and here’s to a fantastic new year!

- Be fingerprinted if:
- You are an Options volunteer
- You will be driving students
- You will be accompanying students on any overnight activities
- You are an athletic volunteer
- You will be working one-on-one with any student(s)
IMPORTANT: If any of the above criteria for fingerprinting applies to you, you will not be allowed to volunteer in those capacities until your fingerprint results have been cleared by the Washington State Patrol and the FBI. You will receive additional notification by email from Human Resources when we receive this information.
(If you have been fingerprinted within the past two years, please contact Liz Campbell at ecampbell@nkschools.org)
Directions for Volunteer Packet
- Download and complete a Volunteer Packet - See button link below.
- Volunteer approval is good for two years. After two years, volunteers must complete a new application. Please allow at least 10 business days for your application to be processed.
- Review the following district policies and procedures before volunteering:
- Submit completed applications to your local school office.
- You will be notified by email or mail of your volunteer status and receive a copy of your Washington State Patrol Background Check within 10 days after receipt. A notification will also be sent to the volunteer coordinator at the school(s) you have indicated on your application.
North Kitsap School District reserves the right to deny a volunteer applicant for any reason.
