Bransford Blast
September 24, 2017
Terrific Texan Families,
Thank you for joining us on Thursday evening for the Bransford Experience and first PTA general meeting of the school year! Many of our families got to take part of Actor's Toolbox (see below for a couple of pictures. Students across BES are engaging in Actor's Toolbox daily using their bodies to show that they agree to use and control the five tools in their toolbox: body, voice, imagination, concentration, and cooperation. The Actor's Toolbox focuses on coming together as a team that can work together in a productive, fun way. The “muscles” and skills required of a strong team member need to be developed and strengthened. To do this, we will participate in an active step-by-step approach that empowers students to take ownership of, and be responsible for, their own behavior while building the skills necessary to establish a sense of self-control, accountability, and team building at Bransford. The activities are theater-based and will also support our use of the arts throughout the year. Ask your child about signing the contract and strong choices.
In addition to Actor's Toolbox, students will be running on Friday. See below for details on our annual Laps for Learning event. All are invited to cheer on the runners on Friday morning. Thank you for supporting the Laps for Learning fundraiser! 100% of the funds earned stay at Bransford!
Also on Friday, get a jump start on your holiday shopping at Kendra Scott in Southlake. Kendra Scott will give 20% of the proceeds to Bransford from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. What a win-win!
Mark your calendars for some exciting events in October. See below for information on National Walk to School Day on October 4. We'd love to see all of our Texans walking to school on that day! Also in October, we will have a Dad's Club Movie Night on Friday, October 13. Look for more details in next week's blast on these and other great events occurring at Bransford.
Have a wonderful week!
