THIS WEEK AT SPES
FROM THE DESK OF DONNA LEMAIRE, PRINCIPAL
Journey of Love
Last week the third and fourth graders had a time of reflection on the Journey to Jerusalem. They learned about Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. If you have a child in either of those grade levels you have probably heard about the experience. You now have a personal guide through the events of Holy Week. Regardless of the age of your child, invite your child(ren) to lead your family in prayer during Holy Week. The faith of a child will always call us to refocus on what is really important. The simplicity of their faith reminds us that we do not have to complicate our faith life. Jesus loves us unconditionally and demonstrated that love making the ultimate sacrifice. Then He gave us even more - the Resurrection. He gave us life. Children have an ability to see that since they have already experienced your unconditional love. Take time during the remaining weeks of Lent to allow Jesus to surround you with His love in some moment of your day. He is the source of your love for your children. The more connected you are to the source of love and grace in Jesus the more your children will be surrounded with your light and faith. You have the incredible opportunity to empower them.
