November Employee of the Month
Those who nominated Mr. Domingez shared the following about our beloved Mr. D:
"Mr. Domingez is there to help out any and every time he is asked. It doesn't matter if it is with a student, personal child, a listening ear, he is always there. I would be lost without him!"
"I feel as though Mr. Dominguez is always trying to better himself by learning new techniques and working hard to grow as an educator."
"Mr. Dominguez exemplifies the heart of a Pirate Educator all day, every day. He takes the time to learn what students need to be successful and goes to any extreme to help them with it. Adam supports his teammates and is always lifting us up. He strives to create a positive and safe environment for every student he interacts with."
"Adam is committed to lifelong learning. He is always asking questions, researching, or reading a new book to further learn a topic. He values teamwork and is always willing to help. He is always willing to collaborate together with the team and find solutions to best support our students."
"Adam is always focused on a growth mindset. He knows there is always room to grow and works well with his team to address areas of growth. Adam sets high expectations and goals for himself and all of his students. He helps students reach these goals through daily support and never gives up ."
"Mr. Dominguez comes to work every day and works so, so hard. He is always willing to learn and grow as an educator. He truly has the students' best interests in mind and is willing to do anything for them. Adam is open-minded, kind, keeps us laughing, and has the biggest heart."
Congratulations, Mr. D! We are so proud of you and the work you do at East!

The Tale of Despereaux
Welcome to the story of Despereaux Tilling, a mouse who is in love with music, stories, and a princess named Pea. It is also the story of a rat called Roscuro, who lives in the darkness and covets a world filled with light. And it is the story of Miggery Sow, a slow-witted serving girl who harbors a simple, impossible wish.
These three characters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and, ultimately, into each other's lives. And what happens then? As Kate DiCamillo would say: Reader, it is your destiny to find out.
We can't wait to kick off this next reading adventure with you during our Family Engagement event on January 20, 2022, from 6:00-7:30 PM.
As always, a reading packet will be coming home for each family including your copy of the book, a reading schedule (provided for reference below), an invitation for our Family Engagement Night, and other resources.
