Parent Newsletter for Caroline Middle School-Nov. 2019
Volume 1 - Issue 4
We are closely approaching the close of another quarter....the second quarter for that matter. This means that we are almost halfway through the school year! We have had some very exciting moments that include making sure that we are consistently celebrating the many successes of our eagle scholars and engineering opportunities that they will cherish forever as part of their middle school experience. We are excited about building upon that for the second semester. As I constantly say that I am proud to be principal at such an amazing school for an absolutely amazing school community, CMS staff WILL continue to work to fulfill the promise of positively impacting EVERY STUDENT, EVERYDAY...EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE!

Students of the Month
I want to acknowledge the following students for being recognized as student of the month for their grade level. The administrative team will be personally delivering your yard sign and a coupon for a free pizza. Please be advised that grade level administrators will be making contact to confirm delivery.
Currently we are at a 86% attendance rate due to a slight decline in student attendance. This means that our chronic absenteeism rate would be 14% if school accreditation indicators were reviewed by VDOE at this time. As we want to ensure that we are a fully accredited school, we want everyone to be mindful that "EVERYDAY COUNTS". Students missing more than 10% of the time from school are not only considered chronically absent. The research shows that students are adversely impacted academically as well. To ensure that Caroline Middle School becomes a premier school in the region, we ask for your continued support in our EVERYDAY COUNTS effort!
Weekly Attendance Incentive Raffle
We will begin our weekly attendance incentive raffle drawing beginning the week of December 2nd. All your student has to do is have perfect attendance for the week to have his or her name entered into the weekly drawing for a prize. Winners will be announced in the weekly parent phone call.
