Get Pumped for Summer Reading
This summer, Middle and High School students will be encouraged to read a book of choice in English and in Spanish. To support this, the library is preparing to buy more eBooks. Send us your suggestions via email or add your ideas to the Wish List in the library.
Book of the Month
'George' by Alex Gino is a story about a grade 3 girl who wants to play the lead actress in the school play. Yet, everyone around her does not understand that the boy they see is really, Melissa, a girl. Through her actions, she reveals to the school and her family her true self. Lovely story written for middle level readers. A good book to use if you wonder how to talk to your children about transgender.
ASFG RESEARCH STOP
This site is to support ASFG students and teachers on how to cite text and digital material in MLA style. MLA was adopted by the school as the format for citing work in all classes. A team of Mexican program and American program teachers worked together to ensure consistency across programs. Workshops will soon be available in both languages for teachers. In the meanwhile, please use this page to support your learners and/or ask Victoria or Jennie to teach a mini lesson. Beyond citing and acknowledging the work of others, citation work improves evaluation of sources and deepens the research process.

Book Fair - March 15 & 16
This year we will have more books in English and Spanish for MS and HS readers. Booksmart from Monterrey is a new addition to Gonvil, Gandhi and Leelefante bookstores. Come ready to find great new, current titles to enrich your reading pleasures.
Help Yourself Bookmarks
Recently, many of you have commented on the 'Help Yourself' bookmarks posted in the school bathrooms and other areas. We hope that you find them useful to quickly and privately find sensitive information in the library when you do not want to ask. Remember, your reading is your business.
Grade 5 enjoys alternative class trip in the library
Twelve grade 5 students enjoyed Maker activities as part of their school stay-cation. The group enjoyed learning how to use 123D design software to design a 3D project which was then sent to the 3D printer for printing. They learned about electronics using the littleBits innovation set. It seems their favorite Maker activity was getting to be the first students to try the Spheros (robotic balls). They learned how to code/program the balls to run routines and work obstacle courses. The three days was filled with engaging self directed learning and fun. A shout out to collaboration and our tech integrators.
