Commitment to Excellence 3/24/17

It's been a great week for CTE!

GHS Culinary- Congratulations!

A HUGE Congratulations to Greenville High School Culinary Team led by Instructor Judy Dolphin for winning FIRST PLACE in the state-wide California Resturant Association Foundation Cooking Competition. The competition included 27 schools with 32 teams competing from around the state. The GHS Culinary team included students- Destiny Potts, Kelsey Heard, Tanner Meigs, Sidney-Lyn McIntosh, and Chainy Carson. The team is now headed to Nationals in South Carolina and will be sponsored by Johnny Rockets!! This is an incredible and inspiring accomplishment. The student's even admitted that they couldn't believe they had won, but as Judy Dolphin said - "Small really is Mighty".

And another congratulations- QHS Youth Entrepreneurship

Congratulations to Quincy Junior/Senior High students Cody Morrison and Luke Zemple for placing 4th out of over 80 teams, in the Youth Entrepreneurship competition in Redding Ca on March 23. If you haven't already check out their pitch and idea by following the link! https://youtu.be/7MfQI8aZKNI

Physical Fitness Testing

As you may know, we are required to administer the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) to all of our 5th, 7th, and 9th grade students. The State Board of Education designated the FITNESSGRAM as the test we are to use. Students in grades five, seven, and nine are required to take the PFT, whether or not they are enrolled in a PE class. Students who are physically unable to take the entire test battery are to be given as much of the test as conditions permit. The testing window is now open and it will close on Friday, May 19, 2017.

THE TESTING DATA MUST BE ENTERED IN AERIES NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, MAY 19, 2017.

PFT administration videos are available at the following website: https://pftdata.org/training.aspx

Need the audio file for the Pacer test? Access it here.
